After 50 years of ministry, it is time for us to reflect and review, who are we as a congregation and where we have come from. I am not referring to Shawmut Avenue or Harrishoff Street (our legacy locations) but where have we come from spiritually. Also, what is God doing, what is our purpose and are we making a difference? These are all important questions we should reflect upon as we celebrate our 50th Anniversary.
We have moved past our youthful years where numerical growth and public recognition were markers of relevance. We in a season where our ministry should be about transformation, deliverance, holiness, consecration, love, operating in our spiritual gifts, responsibility to others and being witnesses for Christ.
Inward assessment is always necessary and if you and I make a thorough accounting of our lives and ministry, Christ will reward us. For the next few weeks let’s prepare ourselves for a massive celebration of 50 years of ministry.
