Abraham, who lived 4000 years ago, has awakened something in my soul. This series, “Walk Your Path”, is challenging me more than any teaching or preaching in recent memory. As we prepare ourselves to celebrate the birth of Christ, Abraham teaches us the importance of human concern.
Christians care about other people; the body of Christ, their kindred acquaintances and they care about the world. You can’t avoid having a heart for the entire world once the Holy Spirit indwells within you. I think this is the greatest challenge of our time given the threats of global violence and major distrust in law enforcement---for that matter, authority in general. Reaching out to other people and yet sustaining a level of safety is hard thing to do. Sacrifice is what Christ exemplified and what God requires of us. Today I want you to place someone not a part of your family into your mind and heart. Please think about them, pray for them and ask God for ways to support them.
