Here are the basic things regarding what it means to be saved. Is the Holy Spirit important if I am not Pentecostal? If I am new, why do I feel old? Answers to these questions are the subject in today’s message. It may be an introduction to greater inquiry, or you may receive life-changing knowledge today. Either way, may the Holy Spirit speak to you. Last week, we spoke about the Orlando massacre and its surrounding issues. I prayed, as I always do, about what to share. What I sensed God saying was, present salvation and the need for change. Everyone needs to experience the grace of regeneration. Anything else is not salvation, it’s religion. We are promised a new heart and a new life which comes only through the washing of rebirth by the Holy Spirit. Jesus did not die to preach to us or take sickness away, He died to pay for our sins. Our only response is total surrender to God’s will. What makes this possible is the Holy Spirit’s ministry. Mercy motivates God to act on our behalf. God’s mercy is active and all encompassing. This is why the theme, “Let Mercy and Compassion Flow” is still so gripping to me. I pray it is still gripping to you as well.
