I never wanted to be religious given I saw religion as husk and not wheat. I saw it as something preoccupying our time and money with no real encounter or transformation. If you listen, you will hear a little criticism of the church in some of my messages. Not that I don’t love the church, I know her flaws and my own as well.
I have always been in search for that mysterious presence that changes people. I look for it today in every worship service. Paul, Moses, David, Esther, the great preachers, teachers and missionaries of Christian history. The presence of God is illusive because the Holy Spirit is a precious gift that costs everything.
I don't understand the disconnect, but I believe it has to do with the magnificence of human personality. Personality may be taking the place of the Holy Spirit. We have been eating cake when we need meat; drinking Kool-aid when we need fresh water. The remnant is in search of the authentic. We should desperately pray for Jesus Christ to take over every worship service. Only then will transformation happen.
I want to go after the authentic and I pray you will join me. This is not pride, or arrogance. It is hunger --- the deep hunger for God and Jesus Christ. I know you are hungry too. Will you go with me?
