Our greatest challenge in Christ is to accept His words with simplicity of faith. His sayings are not difficult if we understand their meaning. Proverbs 4:7 says, “Though it cost all you have, get understanding.”
We must pursue God’s knowledge to become faithful disciples of Jesus Christ. The more I know about Jesus’ life and teaching, the further I am from its wonder and mystery. Yet, I want to chase it with everything within me.
Jesus told His disciples to ask of the Father in His name. To do so is to embrace what He meant. Jesus’ name is no magic bullet or free pass. It is an authority that is derived from The Father alone.
I pray, when this day ends, you will aspire to know the authority of Jesus’ name and be subject to his commands.
