God spoke through Isaiah, “In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength, but you would have none of it.” Israel missed their blessing because, their drive for power and the lust to appear mighty led them away from their true strength---God alone! Let’s not make the same mistake Israel did. Let’s learn to get away to a quiet place and cry out to the Lord within. God will hear us...our total reliance is on Christ Jesus. It always was (even before we knew it) and it always will be, even after life is through.
Today, we come to be still before the Lord. No loud music, no great crescendos, no thunderous praise, just quiet reverence. Take time to seek the Lord the way you want to. Pray about the things that are important to you. Be still. Get quiet. Reflect on your life and God’s goodness. The sanctuary should be one place where you can go and find rest.
This requires maturity, we can do it. Don’t panic, God will speak if you listen. Slow down and allow the Holy Spirit to minister. Think about how important it is for you to discover your own solitary place.
