CONVICTION: the experience of admitting the truth to one’s self. We all convince ourselves of the rightness of our decisions, character and actions. Only when God starts to disturb the conscience to heal and transform us, does conviction happen. This experience is never pretty. It can take years to finish (or it may never finish with us) and changes from gentle prodding to heavy pounding on the heart and mind. It is God’s best tool of repentance. We can change. We can realize a more beautiful life and experience a deeper faith and connectedness with other people, if we are convicted. I encourage us all to live out our convictions. Hearken to everything you hear today.
