Minister Daron A. Banks

I am the 7th out of 8 biological children born to Fannie and Donald Banks. I was born July 27th 1967 in Boston, Massachusetts. As I have stated I was born in the late 60s. By the time I was able to go out and play in the small yard that we had, it was in the mid-70s. I grew up in a Christian home; a home where Christ was as much a part of our family as the siblings themselves. My parents instilled in us the things that they themselves were raised on. Trusting and believing in God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and being led by the Holy Spirit. Proverbs 22:6 "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it" is my favorite scripture. It is because of their upbringing that I am always listening for the voice and direction of God.
Before I accepted the Lord into my life, I was in the streets. I used to hang with gang members and run the streets with them until God said enough was enough. I remember the day God called me. I was at a rap concert at the Providence Civic Centre in Providence, RI. I was with the gang that I associated myself with. It was about 30 of us and we saw a rival gang. It was about 15 of them. We surrounded them, and other concert goers recognizing that there was about to be a problem began to clear the area quickly. I heard my good friend shout "Where's D?" (That is what they called me). Then I felt a tug on my jacket collar and we left before a fight even took place. On the way home I was in the back seat of the car with the music so loud I could feel the organs on the inside of my body vibrating. But this is why I am certain that it was God speaking. Even though the music was as loud as it was and I couldn't hear the siren of a passing ambulance, I still heard as clear as day the voice of God say to me "THIS IS NOT WHAT I HAVE FOR YOU".
Today I am married to Jeanice Banks and have four beautiful children; Sierra, Daron Jr., Naarah and Caleb.
